Gas Fireplace Mantels

If you have chosen a gas fireplace for your home, then you are in for an efficient heating solution that looks beautiful. These fireplaces have plenty of advantages over traditional wood burning fireplaces. You don't have to gather and store firewood, there is no smoke pollution and no chimneys that need cleaning. Some gas fireplaces come with cabinets and mantels that give them an authentic look. Decorating gas fireplace mantels is just like decorating any other type of mantel, you just need an eye for color and placement of chosen decor items.

There are so many different ideas for this area of your home.

If you prefer a minimalistic look, consider a single tulip or rose in a simple bud vase. Or, you may want to keep your mantel bare and make the showcase a work of art or mirror centered above. It all depends on your personal style. Some people like to adorn their fireplace shelf with all kinds of items. You can mix and match your personal decor items for a charming country look. For example try combining flowers, candles, frames and figurines. The effect is a bit crowded but ideal for a down home decor look.

When it comes to adorning gas fireplace mantels, there are lots of great ideas out there. Get your creativity flowing by flipping through interior design magazines or books. You can also see examples of beautifully decorated mantels on the Internet. The more you look at what other homeowners, renters and interior decorators have done with the space above their fireplace the more inspiration you'll get. Of course whatever you choose to place on your mantel will reflect your own individuality and will be unique to your home, even if it was inspired by an outside source.
